Jen Bricker-Bauer & Dominik Bauer, Aerial Skills
Born without legs, one would think that Jen Bricker-Bauer would be destined for a life of hardship. However, the hand of God brought her an amazing adoptive family who gave her one simple rule: “Never say can’t” and helped her forge a life of triumph, not tragedy. Interested in gymnastics from an early age, Jen went on to be the first person without legs competing in power tumbling, against able-bodied athletes, and became a State Champion in her division. Always challenging herself, Jen transitioned into an accomplished acrobat and aerialist. As such, she toured with Britney Spears as a featured act and appeared as the headliner at the Palazzo in Las Vegas, the Shangri-La hotel in Dubai, the Budokan arena in Tokyo, and many other events in over 23 countries. In 2015, Jen was honored to be inducted into the Gallery of Legends Hall of Fame by the World Acrobatic Society.
Jen’s incredible story has been featured on countless shows in over 100 countries, including HBO’s Real Sports, 20/20, and Good Morning America. She hopes to inspire and motivate others to believe that everything is truly possible. Her first book, Everything Is Possible, hit the New York Times Best Seller list in 2016 and since has been translated into 11 languages.
In 2018, while on tour in Austria, Jen met her now-husband, Dominik Bauer, an accomplished musician and at the time opera singer. Dominik was born and raised on a farm in Austria. Inspired by his father, who played in a brass band, he began playing trombone at the age of 13. After winning several awards at different music competitions he joined the military at 19, performing with the Upper Austrian Military Band. At the same time, Dominik started studying performing arts and classical singing at the Anton Bruckner Private University and performed with classical orchestras and bands around Europe. In 2018, Dominik made his operatic debut in Austria as Figaro in Mozart’s Le Nozze de Figaro.
Shortly before this debut, Dominik saw Jen speak in Austria and was immediately inspired by her. He read her book and was compelled to reach out to her. So, he did! Jen responded and within a year of correspondence and visits, they were married. The couple now joined their talents, traveling the world speaking and performing together.
